I went for my three month checkup yesterday with much trepidation. My January 2019 blood work was, mildly speaking, a total disaster. My A1C was 11.8, Blood sugar was 350. Cholesterol reading was 3000. My doctor was apoplectic; they were going to send me to a gastro-interologist and a heart doctor. I said "No" to both. At the end of January, I woke up and was unable to see out of my right eye. Convinced that whatever the problem was I was 99% sure that it had to be related to my type 2 diabetes. I went to Dr. Tillman in Andalusia and Dr. Thompson in Dothan. I was diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration. I became afraid that whatever (bad) eating habits I had would go on to destroy my sight in the left eye. My blood work results yesterday: A1C was 7.1; cholesterol was down to 305; blood sugar was 179. All my numbers were in a good range and I left the appointment feeling better than I had in months. The only sad part was that I'd only lost 3 pounds since January. But, at least it was down and not up. 294 Lbs.
Steven took me to Dr. Thompsons office on 4/10 for eye injection #2; my next appointment is May 8th at 10am.
I'm looking forward to keeping my numbers at least as stable as I did. I like those "good" results!! Wish me luck!
